Peter Dutton plays our famous Hill organ.
Peter Dutton began his musical life as a chorister at Magdalen College, Oxford, and subsequently was Organ Scholar of Trinity College, Oxford, where he read Theology. Following organ scholarships at All Saints’ Margaret Street in London, and St Philip’s Cathedral in Birmingham, he became Organist & Director of Music at Bexhill Parish Church of St Peter in 2005. In 2009, he moved to become School Organist of Christ’s Hospital, Horsham, remaining there until 2019, when he moved to Brighton College as Head of Keyboard Studies, becoming freelance in 2024.
Since 2016, he has been Director of Music at St Silas Kentish Town in London, and he combines that role with work for the ABRSM as an examiner. As a solo performer, he has given recitals at venues including Southwark, Worcester, and Westminster cathedrals in the UK, as well as St Vitus Cathedral, Prague. As an accompanist, he has worked with the Pavao Quartet, and Tenebrae, and has appeared on national radio with Christ’s Hospital Choir.
