Worship at All Saints

Our Services

Worship at All Saints takes different forms throughout the week, with moments of stillness and quiet reflection contrasted with the sounds of a robed choir and glorious music. At its heart is the Mass, celebrated here four times per week, and culminating in the Parish Mass at 10.00 am each Sunday – the focal point of each week.

What to expect

All Saints on a Sunday is a lively place. We are a diverse group of people of different ages, with different life experiences. We hope that in the welcome and the worship offered in this Church you will find a sense of connection to God, and to the community here, regardless of where you are in your faith.

There will be someone to welcome you as you come in, to give you an order of service and let you know what is happening. The order of service will guide you through, giving you guidance on when to sit or stand, as is comfortable for you. You may also have an additional sheet with the readings, prayers, and details of the hymns, and you may be given a hymn book.

Please join in the service as much as feels right and comfortable for you.

There will be music, often from the Parish choir, sometimes from a cantor. There may be incense used, to honour the Gospel, the Sacrament, and the people of God.
There will almost certainly be a sermon, in which we consider the Word of God and how it speaks to our lives as individuals and a community.

We receive the sacrament, or a blessing, and we are sent out into the world to build God’s kingdom through our prayers and actions – but first we have coffee and quite often, cake.

Accessibility

There are toilets downstairs, with baby changing facilities and for those who find stairs difficult a stair lift is available.

There is a loop system for those who have hearing aids.

Large print copies of the order of service, the hymn book, and mass this week are available.

Communion is distributed at the Chancel steps, on the level to ensure accessibility, however if mobility is difficult for you and you need communion brought to you, please let us know, and we will be happy to do this.

There is provision for families and children each week, and information about this will be available as you come in, on a board at the back of church, or from the welcomers.
