Jon Rawles

Jon Rawles

Director of Music

Born in Bristol, Jon gained a choral scholarship at St Mary, Redcliffe under the direction of Anthony Pinel with whom he studied piano and organ. After leaving school Jon studied musicology at the University of Durham, whilst musically directing his own college choir (St Cuthbert’s Society), being assistant director of music (St Mary’s College), and bass scholar (St Chad’s College). He then moved to Canterbury where he studied for his post-graduate diploma in piano accompaniment. He has played in most cathedrals throughout the UK with the Oriana Singers, and is currently the guest director of the 1839 consort; both based in Royal Tunbridge Wells. Jon is very proud to be the director of the choir at All Saints, and is enjoying strengthening and growing the choir both in their number and in the contribution they offer to the liturgy and life of the church. In his spare time Jon enjoys spending time outdoors, especially on the beach and the south coast, as well as working in local theatres.
